Hi. I met you yesterday at Brooklyn Brainery class.
I began doing something very similar to you a couple years back. Here are 10 of my favorite classes:
1 Tango Dancing at Dance Manhattan (Technically I started this a long time ago, before I began taking classes for classes’s sake, but it is one of my favorite activities)
2 Glassblowing (Urban Glass is my favorite place to take lessons – but they are renovating)
3 Westside Pistol and rifle range (You need a license to shoot a pistol, but teach you to fire rifles).
4 Pyri (Roman sword fighting martial arts class)
5 The People’s Improv Theater (The PIT offers intro improv classes)
6 Pizza a Casa (Good pizza making class)
7 Trapeze and silk work at New York Circus Arts Academy
8 Synthethic Biology at GenSpace.org
9 Blacksmithing via School for Visual Arts
10 Precious Metal Clay sculpting at silverclay.com
I am thinking of taking a lost-wax metal casting class at 3rd ward.
Hey Andrew!
What a great list! Thanks for sharing – definitely some new additions for my list. I’d love to take tango (maybe even in Argentina). Blacksmithing also sounds awesome. I did do the Westside Pistol & Rifle Shotgun class. That was fantastic. I followed up later with a 9mm. Keep me posted on your new endeavors. Since you have a headstart on me, I’d love to hear your suggestions as you continue on. Birds of a feather…!
