Hey Sweetness

One of my besties loves icing. And I don’t mean ice hockey. She loves the frosting on cake. In fact, it doesn’t even need to be on cake.  Out of the container, bowl, on the spoon, whatever. So originally we were supposed to take this fabu icing class at Butter Lane together. We were gonna be a sweet tag team. She was going to eat the icing, I was going to eat the cake. Everyone wins! Sadly, I somehow managed to not be able to schedule us for the same class. I’m still a little sad about it.  Nevertheless I sucked it up and took the class all by myself. What follows below is a brief summary of the class (not all the secrets though, take your own class!).

If you’re really lucky you’ll get Sunshine as your instructor.

If not, I’m sure the other instructors are just as lovely (but probably a wee less badass).

There was an icing contest at the end of class and sadly (but not surprisingly) I did not win.  But she did. I mean, look at that swirl!

For those of you who are keeping score: Jill 0, Cupcakes 1

I probably need a separate scoreboard for things I suck at and things I’m good at. I’m not sure this is one thing I should persevere with. I think I’ll follow Seth Godin’s lead to quit early & often on this one. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to keep doing something you’re not good at. It makes more sense to go focus on something else.

Such a fabulous time. I have lots of mastering of icing to do. And also eating. Sunshine, you made the class entertaining. Doesn’t hurt that you’re also the cat’s pajamas. <3
