Legolas, meet Jill. Jill, Legolas

I’m not sure when it started, but I think it may have been with Lord of the Rings. And while this applies to my swooning over Orlando Bloom, what I’m actually referring to is my semi-recent fascination with archery. It always looks so cool in the movies, but rarely seems cool in real life. I mean, COME ON. This is just sexy.

I think we had a session of archery in high school but nothing more than that. I don’t remember how that turned out for me but it obviously didn’t catch my interest enough to warrant me looking into it anymore than those 2 weeks. Clearly I’m much more interesting as an adult.

I’m amused that over the last few years I’ve decided that archery should totally be cool for non-movie types- especially since I don’t have a good reason (except for blondie, above).  But I’ve mentioned it casually before in previous posts and it’s on my big to-do list, not to mention it’s on my kickass logo. So you can imagine my excitement to find the Beginner’s Archery Course offered at Papago Park.  Note: it was a lot of excitement.  FOUR WHOLE WEEKS of classes! I could barely contain myself. Words don’t suffice.

It’s way better to watch…
